underdog

About me:
I started studying karate in 1993. I knew I was a bit old for this but I figured what the heck, I'll study a few years and see what I can learn. As it worked out, I am a very slow learner because I'm still at it and I haven't finished learning what I can learn yet.

I hold the rank of Nidan in American-Te (Cody Robyn and the guys of Mansfield)and PL 1 in Kyusho International.

I've had some great training opportunities. I studied TKD in the color ranks. I got to study with Tom Sotis (AMOK/International Blade Fighter's Guild) and I studied mostly Qin-Na, but also Qigong and Push Hands in the open seminars at Yang, Jwing Ming's school in Boston.

Interests:
My job: psychiatric nurse
Religious studies: I studied for the ministry.
I am a contributor on Kyusho.com.
I am a former moderator on the fighting arts forum where I am "underdog".
Weight training. Someday, I think I'd like to become a certified trainer.
I have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.

Rank: 2 Dan

Thanks for the add Roseanne. A grandmother and martial artist still training...much respect, a true inspiration. Proving that its up to each of us to continue to learn despite age, health , or circumstance.

Rosanne, you are an inspiration to me! You have shown me that you don't have to be some tough young male to do martial arts, but us ladies can mix it up too. Hopefully I can train with you at some event in the future.

Roseanne is great to work with. She never stops giving knowlege as long as you want to learn. She drives everyone around her to work harder. And she's patient with all my beginner questions! I constantly learn when I train with her. It is a privelage to be able to work along side her.

Rosanne is an incredible training partner who works harder then possibly any one I have ever met, in and out of the dojo. She has shared so much information with me over the time I have know her only to help me become a better martial artist and a better person. Thanks :-)

Rosanne - Congrats on setting the date!I'm sure you will do great on your PL test! You are one of the most dedicated and determined martial artists that I have trained with - you don't rely on physical strength but focus on technique which is a lesson for all of us. Just continue to do what you have been doing.

Rosanne truly inspires me! I honestly look forward to seminars more when I know she'll be there. She is actually a big help to me when I teach because I watch her to make sure the techniques I show are really going to work. She approaches each technique from as many angles as she can, thoroughly proving it to herself and making sure it is a valid use of her time. I've never met anyone like her and feel counting her among my friends is a true honor and privilege. Thank you for the example you set, Rosanne!!!

If you see Rosanne train you would never believe she is a grandmother, she nearly knocked me out with a revival at the last seminar with Asa :-). Just teasing it was fun.
